Ek Villain..

To start of with, I would like to clarify on thing. If you are looking for any surprise elements in the movie (just as I was) you would be utterly disappointed. The movie is definitely not a suspense thriller (contrary to what is being publicized)

Mohit Suri: Always Inspired!!!!

Mohit Suri's direction is good. The narration isn't sequential and follows the stop-rewind-fast forward-rewind pattern which we have seen in quite a few movies recently. I don't know what Korean movie has he ripped off this time, but it doesn't matter as long as it is good. The story is flawed at many places but is good enough to keep you hooked up for 2hrs.

The music by Ankit Tiwari and Mithoon is excellent (as always!). Galliyan is the best of the lot. All the songs are aptly paced except this one

But this is an excellent number by an upcoming band called Soch and has Prachi Desai (Hotter than ever), so no one is complaining.

Shraddha Kapoor is OK OK in her peppy avatar which gets onto your nerves at times, but is way better than Arohi ( there is always the fast forward button to your rescue). Siddharth Malhotra too performs well and sheds his chocolate boy image.

But the only reason why you should watch the movie is for the Villain, Ritesh Deshmukh. He is probably the most under-rated Bollywood star who was caught doing stupid sex comedy's. But not in this one. He plays his character to perfection. He has that innocence when he is with his family which makes us feel bad for him, but at the same time he makes us hate him as the perfect villain when he is on his killing spree. He has performed very well in the comedy genre (Especially Apna Sapna Money Money, which still is one of those hatke movies which will make you laugh over and over again. Its a must watch especially if you like slapstick), but this is by far his best performance till date.

This is definitely a one time watch especially for Ritesh who in spite of being the Villain is the true hero of the movie. Lai Bhari!!!

Rating: One time watch (Laptop/PC), Not worth it for the theatre though.
